How To Propose Blog Ideas

Blog ideas are a great way to develop long-term relationships with clients

Blog Ideas allow you to propose custom content ideas to clients based on their industry and audience. They're a great way to start a relationship with a new client and you can propose as many ideas as you'd like!

To begin, you can find available Blog Ideas by clicking Available Jobs on your dashboard and navigating to Blog Ideas on the right menu.

On the Proposal screen, you'll find the Content Brief, set right, which tells you about the client's industry, their audience and other useful information

Best Practices

If potential clients feel they can trust you to steer their content, you're well on your way to developing a long-term relationship. We advise the following tips to get the most out of Blog Ideas:

    • If one is provided, carefully research the client's website to determine the type of content they typically produce and the intended audience. If the site appears to need to some love, it's likely the reason they're on Scripted! While focusing on safe bets is always recommended, don't be afraid to propose a radically different direction. Remember, you can submit more than one idea to the same client.
    • The content brief may not always be complete. In some cases, you may only have the client's name and the industry. A quick Google search should bring up some more information to assist you with your pitch, but remember that contacting potential clients off-platform is not permitted.
    • Follow it up! If one Blog Idea got accepted, send over another that builds off the original idea. Clients on Scripted are rarely here for one piece of content and the vast majority are looking to overhaul their content strategy entirely. Be the inspiration they need.

One of the best parts of Blog Ideas is that you're able to submit as many Blog Ideas as you'd like. Once you've submitted once, you can reopen the Proposal Request and send another over about a different idea. Bear in mind, however, that Blog Ideas are the only job type for which you can send multiple proposals.
