Ensure you stick to these best practices and keep your account in good standing.
In order to deliver on our promise of great content, we hold Scripted Writers to certain expectations. Below, you'll find four instances that could result in the loss of your writing privileges on Scripted if you're not exercising caution.
Plagiarism
Each piece of content a Scripted Writer submits is run through plagiarism detection software to ensure it does not match content already found on the web. Should the submission be flagged for potential plagiarism, the Scripted team will hand-review the content to gather additional context for the flags.
In the event that you submit content that is found to be a legitimate instance of plagiarism, your account will be suspended indefinitely. We take a zero-tolerance position against plagiarism and expect Scripted Writers to submit entirely original content on each Job.
AI-Generated Content
Scripted has a zero-tolerance, “one strike and you’re out” policy on writers using any AI-generated content in their work. Submitting AI-generated work will result in a permanent account ban. This includes using AI to write job proposals, message customers, create “first drafts”, or use it for any portion of your submitted work.
All work submitted through Scripted is automatically run through a multi-layer AI detection process that includes checking with multiple third-party checkers as well as a manual review of all flagged content. You can be confident that every piece that is submitted will be reviewed down to the sentence level and will be flagged - every time.
Our intention with this stance toward AI-generated content is to protect both Scripted writers and customers. Our promise to Scripted customers is that their content is 100% human-generated by a team of experienced writers and editors, with the option to choose a subject matter expert in their industry. AI-generated content can be flagged through search engine algorithms and harm their overall site performance or in some cases, blacklist their site entirely.
Off Platform Contact
Reaching out to Scripted customers off-platform can result in your account being suspended. Many of Scripted's clients come to the platform to enjoy a degree of privacy and are using the platform as means to find writers who are the best fit for their content needs. Soliciting work off-platform obviously can cause some friction in this case.
Beyond that, this rule protects you, too. Should you engage with a customer off-platform, we cannot guarantee payment, limit revision requests or guarantee any compensation in the event of a rejection.
Rejections
Rejections happen from time to time and we recognize that it may not always be under your control. Sometimes, a client may have unrealistic expectations for a piece of content, perhaps the content brief had insufficient guidelines or the client may have just decided to take things in a different direction. We take all of this into account when reviewing a rejected piece of content.
However, it's important to remember that more than two (2) rejected jobs in a one month period or three (3) consecutive rejected jobs can result in your account being suspended.
If you suspect your content has been unfairly rejected, reach out to us. We'll be happy to take a look into it. But the best approach is to prevent your content from getting rejected in the first place. And that starts with quality.
Quality
The components of "Quality Content" are obviously subjective in nature. But there are are some universal aspects that Scripted Writers must adhere to when submitting content. At a bare minimum, we require you to ensure your content is free of errors, poor grammar and follows the guidelines as established by the content brief.
As such, more than two (2) reports of low quality, spelling errors or poor grammar can result in your account being suspended. As above, we'll be taking context into consideration, but please be advised that the frequency of complaints we receive is also a factor in our decision.
We've assembled a list of essential tools here that can assist you in making sure you can deliver error-free content every time.
Not meeting Scripted's quality expectations may lead to suspension, tier demotions, or permanent account bans. Get up to date on Scripted's Talent Network Conduct Policy here.
